Dr. Susan Woods, MD, MPH
Susan Woods, MD, MPH, is an internist, researcher and innovator. As Principal at HiTecHiTouch, LLC, she is passionate about digital strategy and therapeutics, and driving virtual services into routine care. Most recently she was Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, and formerly served as the Director of Patient Experience at the Veteran Health Administration’s Connected Care Office, where she worked on national development and deployment of web and mobile apps, and led efforts in Blue Button (VA Open Notes) and patient generated data. Her research and work focuses on the design and use of patient technology, digital inclusion, and patient-clinician collaboration to achieve participatory care. Susan is Past President, Society for Participatory Medicine, currently on the board at the Maine Medical Association, and member of the ConnectME Broadband Authority for the State of Maine.
Dr. Richard Pescatore, DO, FAAEM
Rick Pescatore, DO, FAAEM, is an emergency physician and medical educator in the Greater Philadelphia area. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Pescatore is currently the Director of Clinical Research and Medical Director for EMS at the Crozer-Keystone Health System in Chester, PA. He believes strongly in narrowing the communication gap between patients and providers and making evidence-based medicine accessible to all.
